Social Selling: The Importance of an Optimised Profile

Social media provides salespeople with the opportunity to gain new leads and build and nurture new, beneficial relationships. Unfortunately, only 1 in 4 sales people is using it to their advantage. If you are keen on learning more about social selling, there is one place that you need to focus your attention to start off with – and that is optimising your profile!

Use Strong Keywords 

If you optimise your profile using well-researched, strong keywords, you increase your chances of possible leads finding you whenever they search for specific products or services relevant to your market and the industry in which you work. If you’re using LinkedIn, it is also important to include these keywords in the main section and summary section of your profile as this can improve the likelihood of it showing up in generic search results. From there, work on creating as many connections and relationships as you can. The more connections you have, the higher your chances of showing up higher in a relevant search.

Include All Relevant Contact Information 

If you’re lucky enough for possible leads to find you, make it easy for them to get in touch by including all your relevant contact details. A landline, cell phone number and email address are all essential!

Make Sure that You Have a Profile Picture 

Possible leads will be more likely to trust your social profile if you have a profile picture, so keep this in mind when setting them up. This goes for every social platform from Twitter to LinkedIn and everything in between. Usually, your company logo is the best bet.
